Release your soul from daily routine and join us on a journey to experience the charms of Egypt. Allow the ancient past to embrace you and give life to your dreams for the future.
Our target audience is international visitors who are coming to Egypt for the first time. So in our video we focus on explaining the history of Memphis in an interesting way for people who want to come to lovely Egypt. The video speaks to all ages from all over the world about the history of the great pharaohs.
At first we thought of many ideas. We wanted to make a connection between all international visitors and Memphis, so we discussed about how to get this connection.
After many discussions we had an idea about starting with the seven ancient wonders to get their attention. Then we had a difficult task, how we can make a connection between the seven ancient wonders and Memphis? We had an idea about the Great Pyramid as the ancient wonder still survives till today. The pharos used the pyramids as a place to bury their bodies and Memphis was the capital city as a place of their life.
We created a storyboard to organize our thoughts and to plan each scene. We started with the first scene of Google Earth showing seven icons of the seven ancient wonders. The second scene showed the Great Pyramid . The third scene focused on Memphis as a gate to ancient Egypt where it all began. The next scenes showed the features of Memphis:
- The west gate of the Great Ptah Temple (god of creation)
- Apis House as a place of purification and mummification
- Hathor Temple as the goddess of love and motherhood
- The colossus of Ramesses II to refer to control and domination
The final scene from Memphis, we zoomed out to all of Egypt to show that their domination spread all over to the Serapeum, Dendera, Abydos ,Luxor, Abu Simbel and more.
After we finished describing the storyboard we divided the tasks between us. Ahmed was working on the audio project, Mohamed and Monera worked on the voice narration, Rasha and Mohamed worked on the Google earth tour task, and Monera also worked on the video camera.
We filmed four places at Memphis: the Colossus of Ramesses II, Hathor Temple, the Apis House, and the west gate of Great Ptah Temple. At the AERA villa we recorded the voice, searched for the audio and photos with free copyrights.
In the post-production we all worked on making the video. Every one of us had a different challenge. For Ahmed (sound technician) it was to find a good track for the video and modify it. For Mohamed and Rasha (Google Earth tour) the internet was too slow. For Monera the video shooting time was too difficult with the weather (clouds blocking the sun). For the narrative we had a problem with cable of Yeti microphone to record the narrative.
Syncing all the words and sounds.
With our team spirit, we overcame all challenges.
Our hope for this video is to get a high trend on social media and to reach all national and international visitors. We ask you to share and give your comments. We encourage you to visit Memphis to explore the magic.
